Hello bichos, you're right, I did not think to specify that... It was shot in Southern France, in a wetland area on the coast (at the beginning of the Camargue), in mid April. Attached you have another picture, unfortunately this side view is the only one I have. Thank you nico Attachments:

 Looks very much like : Nephrotoma lugens (Loew, 1864) But this tipulidae flies in nearctics not, as far I know, in Camargue. Anyway, almost sure that it belongs to the same genus.
