I just saw an ad in the Classifieds (# 43415,Coleoptera,deadstock), placed by Jose Manuel Zevallos from Peru, about one '8cm Macrodontia itayensis'. Firstly,this very rare species never reaches this size. A size of 6.5cm would be a top record maximum one for it. Also,from the photo of this ad, it's clear that it's not itayensis. The photographed specimen looks like a female of M.castroi -not from Peru. Be careful.

UPDATE: I examined more the small photo of this ad, and the specimen looks more like a Macrodontia batesi female than a M.castroi. But again,not at all M.itayensis .
