Does anyone know why Brett took down his Papilionidae of the World web site? It is still listed under the links section on this web site but it goes no where. Did Brett move to another web site or can his data be purchased on a CD?
Any help appreciated.

I must have spent days looking at all the pictures a few years ago
It was sad when the site disappeared for a while

Anyone know if he sells this on a CD? I'd gladly pay to have a permanent recording. It is a wonderful web site and a great resource. Even better if he collaborated with some of the collection owners here to include additional species and subspecies.

Some years ago I have downloaded the software Webspider. With this software you can save websites at your harddisk. I have done this with the Papilio site mentioned above. It has worked easily and the software was for free.

Is it legal ?
It's a threat for websites as it lowers their visitor numbers and thus their commercial worth.

why not if it is for personal use and to not publish on the net or elsewhere ! It doesn't hurt the copyrights concept or the intellectual property. Thierry

Especially for saving contents that might otherwise vanish

I agree with the comments above; however, if it is commercially available from Brett, I would like to reward his effort which may translate into future additions to the body of work he created, yet remains incomplete.
