I open this topic to answer to real question about Viridixes.
First paper (on Viridixes) was published end 2008 when Aduse-Poku manuscript (2009) was yet finished (it has been submitted some days after the publication of Viridixes). This explains why Viridixes is not included in Aduse-Poku's study.
Authors of Viridixes knew the study made by Aduse-Poku & al when their published the description but can't use it as it was not yet published.
Creation of Viridixes and revision of the group is the result of nearly 20 years study, the discovery of new taxa, synonyms, field researches, intensive collection, genetic studies, etc.
In the Viridixes paper, it is explained (around 2 pages) why the choice of genus level was made. In few words, to defend a useful / undersantable concept of the genus in accordance with binomial nomenclature (including of course monophyly and other obvious things).
Where I don't agree with Aduse-Poku & al is that despite a wonderful genetic study, they didn't take the responsabilty to put the groups (they highlighted) at a logic taxonomic level.
The creation of Viridixes implies the existence (and creation in some cases) of others genera to put in order with logic and correctly all the old world Charaxinae. This was not the aim of the paper including the creation of Viridixes and we let to more specialised authors the responsabilty to do that.
In my POV, this had been done by Aduse-Poku & al. but Aduse-Poku seemed to not want to make such work as his main aim seemed to highlight the genus Charaxes in genetic POV only ! Such question was discussed at that time between some of the authors.

the two papers involved

Nymphalidae) based on five gene regions. Molecular Phylogenetics and Evolution 53 (2009) : 463–478
