The beast has arrived, but 86.78mm not 88mm. Still a fresh beast though.......

Quite possible the specimen (being fresh) has contracted since it was originally measured, or the callipers were held with the beetle angled to give the longest length measurement. An impressive size in any event. You must post a picture when it is set.

I have to clean it first. I have been offered a 89mm and another 88mm. The specimen i recieved today is up for sale. I have just recieved today also a 161mm macrodontia cervicornis. I'll post a picture of the ugandensis later.
