Hi As Les had no more time to update and develop it, I am now in charge of updating it. I have transfered it to a new web system which would able us to include live photos, vidéos, bibliography, community... It should be available in few months as it is very long to copy this huge site in a new system. I will let you all know. The new address will be www.delias-butterflies.comI hope you will be able to provide us a lot of pictures Barry. Olivier

6 months later, and many many many hours spent with Jean-Marc to improve it, the new website www.delias-butterflies.com is now nearly completed. You can find there : - description and pictures of all known species and ssp (more than 1000 ssp. !) - distribution of all known species and ssp. - some very rare specimens pictured - bibliography - updated classification after each important publications (the main benefit of internet !!!) - useful links (Delias suppliers...) - live pictures It's free, enjoy it ! With more than 30 visitors per day (mainly from Japan, USA and Australia), this website is already a success for a very specialised subject.

Nice pic JM ! D. ligata is often seen resting on a leaf like this one. Not a typical behaviour for other montainous Delias.

Here a stream in Siobri (Arfak Mountains, Papua) : climbing along the stream, depending the elevation, we meet : Delias heroni, D. kenricki, D. angiensis, D. microsticha flavopicta et Delias caroli caroli. These butterflies fly in the morning when the sun shines. They hide on trees in the afternoon. Attachments:
