Can anyone id. this Castnia species? Seems close to C.archon, but is definately different. Taken in my garden yesterday, Cordoba Prov. Argentina. The photo has data full attached. thanks Nigel Attachments:

Nigel
Nigel sent me this photo yesterday asking for ID. Paysandisia archon originally comes from Argentina and Paraguay, even though it's now established in much of southern Europe. I have some specimens from both Argentina and Spain but won't have time to check them properly for a few days as I'm away from home. I would say it's highly unlikely that it's anything other than a form of C. archon, but the Castniidae are so little studied that anything's possible - we're discovering new species all the time!

Thanks Bob, I guess is just an intersting form of P. archon after all! Nigel
