Hoping someone can figure out what species this is. I think it might be Anomala valida, but that was from a single picture I found on google. It is about 2 cm long. Attachments:

It's Callistethes bimaculatus Blanchard. It ranges from Mexico to throughout Central America to Colombia, Venezuela, and Ecuador. Source: Atlas de Los Escarabajos de Mexico by Miguel Angel Moron. The two part book is available through BioQuip. I collected a similar species; Anomala sticticoptera in Belize, but it doesn't have the black spot on the elytra.
