No idea about the moth, but the larvae looks to be Cantharidae.

Robert, when was the moth caught and what size? It looks like a Dark Brocade but could even be a Northern Arches.

It hatched out from a pupa I had in the house 25/02/12, Its 4 and a half cm wingtip to wingtip and 2cm head to bottom.

Ah, that size makes it a Dark Arches. it was the angle of the photo that confused me.
