Claude- Huh, because to me the second image taken from the website looks better - you don't have the glare reflecting off of the specimen and I think you can even see the hairs better. It might be a little on the bright side, but having a bright specimen like that is better than a darker one, especially if you have to go into print.

Johan - Very nice photos. It's amazing the amount of color & detail present in even the most common & smallest of creatures.

Thank you Charlie. I am finding that the micros are far more interesting than macros. There is all sorts of unhitherto seen detail in there that is actually quite interesting. Lepidoptera photography is something I adopted over the last few months, having run an MV trap in the UK off and on for about 8 years or so.
