I have just come back from a trip to Argentina and expected a different reception to the one i got. We seem to have two politicians who are both trying to stir up trouble to help save there own political backsides. Everybody knows this is about oil and not the well being of half a dozen islanders and a couple of penguins. The truth of the matter is both the normal people of Britain and Argentina don't give a rats ass about the Falklands, and would not consider it worth a single soldiers life.

Really?
Which world do you live in?
There are more than a half dozen islanders. Falklands is a territory. Another territory, Norfolk Island, lost more (by population) than any other in the Commonwealth in the First and Second World Wars.
The people speak English, live English. They are not in any way hispanic in culture.
I'd have to agree that the modern UK citizen doesn't care about the Falklands; that is because the couldn't find it on a map and it doesn't contribute to their socialist agenda. They don't care if it doesn't lower beer and highway toll prices. That's why UK is what it is now.
On the other hand, Argies well remember the war over the Malvinas. They are a proud people, who largely still consider the Malvinas their territory. Yet, they know that the 1982 war cost them the entire economy. If surveyed yes or no to have the Malvinas at no cost, they'd obviously say yes. But they also recognize the power of UK, and what happened last time; they also respect that the current (and long time) residents are Brits, not Argies.
The Argies in general are a bit arrogant, and I love them for it. The rest of SA calls BA "The Center of the Universe" as a joke. But they're not willing to go to war over the Malvinas again.
The Brits, if required, will go to war over Falklands again. The Argies won't.
When we begin to worry about what matters to "normal people" is when we return to anarchy via socialism.
Do some research on the topic, talk to real people who have a clue, then come back and discuss.
