I have no idea what I have found here and I have no idea where to even begin my research on this one. The body length (not including the antenna) is 2cm, wingspan 2.6cm. Attachments:

it is a Strepsiptera these are parasites of other insects

No, this is a beetle- Phengodidae, genus Phengodes. These are the males of "glowworms", usually a nice catch on the east coast. Females are larviform and glow like the larvae.

Thank you. That is an order that I had not heard of up to this point. (guess I am showing my inexperience there lol) It seems that there is hardly any Strepsiptera on BugGuide. So I threw the image up there to see if anyone can narrow it down any further.

I would have never guessed that this was a beetle. I didn't even know that we had glow worms in this area. Thank you both for your assistance.
