I wholeheartedly agree, Johns collection of papilionidae must be one of the finest in private hands, I thought i had done well securing a male, as for a female no chance.

Thank you for nice compliments, now everyone knows why I work 80+ hrs a week during my busy season(April-November) in my landscape business. What is truly amazing is that I work with flowers, gardens for 8 months of the year, yet last year I only saw 4 papilio canadensis canadensis, 3 papilio polyxenes asterius, probably the two most common papilionidae endemic too Ontario, Canada. The white cabbage butterfly(pieris rapae) one see hundreds of specimens!

John,
;D Very, very nice butterfly. Getting ANYTHING from the Andamans counts as a success!

My 3 male Papilio Mayo (No female YET!) Middle and Bottom specimen are from 1912, saddle set and very fragile. Don't know if the blue has turned that way through age or what? Rich

I love golf as well as butterflies. Of course if I had to choose there would be no contest, but hopefully it will never come to that.

Do you know whether this is a female of P. mayo? Or rahter memnon... Tails are glued and there's no data. Thanks

This is P. memnon, probably ssp. agenor, and definitely not P. mayo.
