I was recently asked to identify the moth depicted from Malawi. Wing shape is suggestive of a Sphingidae species, but other features suggest it belongs to another family. Any help would be appreciated. Bill Oehlke Attachments:

it's a noctuid Pacidara venutissima Walker, 1865 male
it's a panafrican species that also comes to banana bait trap The species is really beautiful !
