hey , are these beetles rare in new jersey ? i know its in the far point of their range ,but are they widespread and abundant in the state ? thanks

I doubt that you'd find them there. I live in North Carolina and while they're more common in the southeast I'm lucky to get two or three a year. Some years are probably better than others. I can't really speak with any knowledge as to them being common up there but I have never heard of anyone finding them that far north.
