I do not trust the label that accompanies the insect. The appearance of this specimen wonder ... Someone has an idea?

why don't you believed a discolored ugandensis ? replace the dark bands by white ones and refresh the green (in mind).... (ps : nothing to do with the label)

Well actually, if you look at the color bands accurately, they are reddish (sorry for the quality of the picture) ... It seemed strange to say it was a ugadensis "washed out" ..

not "washed out" ... discolored ! probably unvolontary (the hunter probably don't take care of his material.) even it is natural I confirm discolored
anyway, examine the morphology and pattern of the specimens ... it fit very well with ugandensis !

do you think it is greased? I could spend with acetone!

"nothing to do with label" means that my opinion is not relied to the label nothing else !

I have to say that I totally agree with africaone, and base my judgement, on the specimen and not the label.
It is clearly a M. ugandensis. Look at the 'horn' and the protibia external teeth. Almost no other cetoniid has anything close to either feature.
I also think it is greased up and needs an acetone bath or two.
Do a bath and re-post a pic for us all please. I'd sure love to see it then.
