Has anyone had dealings with, bonaventure toukam at islandshop before ?? I am sure this has been brought up before, but I cannot find now. Any help is welcome ALSO what about P.T.Wana Lestari Bumi Indah Permai from Kalimantan seems on the surface to be OK, but 50% upfront and no pay pal  ? And lastly - I think a bit of a joke actually but I am asking anyway Coleopteres Africa - offering mostly philippines species ?? Any info will be most welcome. Thanks in advance Len P.S. He solicited me using the name Drs. Fahrul Odhe. I made an order, a substantial one, but if he is from Kalimantan he offered somethings that do not fly there. He also said he wanted 50% up front but I indicated that it is the custom these days that if anybody solicits you to buy their insects thet are obligated to send them first. I think if everybody stuck to that rule it would put a pretty big dent in the uncertainty of transactions, like basically eliminate it. It works I suppose with those who think they are getting a good deal and then get taken. There is no such thing as the free lunch.

Thank you very much for that tis. It is exact same storey with me. Actually I do not think any the species he offers are from Kalimantan. He also claims to have CITIES ?
I suspect he is from Irian Jaya, and he or his friend already ripped me off some time ago.

I may be wrong but there is no reliable dealers nowadays directly from Irian Jaya, PNG & Kalimantan.
Only old stuff come from PNG (except Bismarck Archipelago where Japanese organise some expeditions). Nothing come directly from Irian Jaya, Irian Jaya stuff come from dealers in Bali, Bantimurung and so on.

I recently received a solicitation from"Bonaventure" offering A1 pairs of Papilio aristodemus subspecies for $200/pair. I asked him/her to send me photos to verify quality. Received reply that the butterflies were already packaged and ready to ship and that he was "waiting"....... For what? Payment? I wrote back to inform him that if he wanted anyone to take him seriously that he might consider exhibiting a little more professionalism on his part. Don't people believe in making an honest living anymore?

P.T. Wana Lestari Bumi Indah Permai (Drs. Fahrul Ode) is a SCAM. He is working with Laode Nahruddin and someone who misrepresents himself as Basuki Ongko. DO NOT send money in advance to these people. They are a scam ring who specifically target the insect trade.
