Hey guys! At the moment my larvae of Lucanus maculifemoratus maculifemoratus (Japan) are becoming pupae. I fed the larvae with fermented wood and kept them at a cool temperature (around 16°C). The pupa in the picture was recieved from a larva which weighed 12-13g when I last weighed it on 12th of March this year. It took almost 2 years. Attachments:

A first male hatched. It's not the one from the first picture and smaller. It measures 60 mm. His left mandible is a bit shorter than the right one. The big male from the picture should hatch in about 1-2 weeks. I'll post another picture then. Attachments:
