Hi every body I have some specimens of Prosopocoilus genus I collected in N. Vietnam. I think they are P. astacoides. Its shape look very like P. astacoides that I collected in S. Vietnam. The body of These specimens are reddish and brighter in color. Perhaps it is a other sub species but I am not sure. Who can help me. Thank all Attachments:

Your specimen looks like P. astacoides castaneus from N. Vietnam through to India. Whereas the other subspecies you mention from S. Vietnam is P. astacoides karubei it does tend to be a different colour, with more orange than the redish brown of the northern form.

Thank Bichos That right! the head, pronotum and mandible of P. astacoides specimens from S. Vietnam are darkish whereas elytra are yellow in color. N. Vietnam I knew a subspecies is P. astacoides birmanicus (Hao Huang 2011) but I can not ID Them exactly.

Oh! ok I had not heard of p. a. birmanicus, so it replaces P. a. castaneus from northern Vietnam I guess as this sub-species had such a wide distribution.
