I recently caught a female Ponderous Borer (Trichocnemis spiculatus) in CA. I was wondering if anyone has any experience keeping this species, or any related Prionids, as a pet. For instance, what kind of habitat do they need, what do they feed on, and how long do they live?

Not the best of pets, they are very bittey too, I prefer Lucanids as pets. Not Lucanus though as they too are short lived. Dorcus are good, so too are Phalacrognathus
