Okay so today I was swimming and a bug landed by the pool I had wings and 6 red legs butit was all black except for a little patch/square of red behind his head I never seen an insect like this before lease help me identify this links with pictures will help thanks.

Size? Beetle like? Fly, dragonfly/damselfly? Bee/wasp/hornet Mantid, etc. Black bug with red thorax and legs: Tanbark beetle?
