I have been contacted by Chu Hong who claims to be a breeder of Actias moths. He is offering me cocoons and some surplus stock of: Actias isis Actias dubernardi Actias chapae
He says he is currently in Indiana with his stock. He posted a classified back in June which is now gone. Has anyone out there had any dealings with him? I've been burned once already this year trying to get Actias isis......I don't want to go down that road again.
Thanks, Mike

This person also contacted me when I put out an ad looking for battus philenor saying he had them, but when I asked how many broods they had there, where they came from and if he had pictures, he didn't respond

After doing some detailed questioning I was able to determine that he is yet another scammer. I was suspicious to begin with because of the unrealistic quantities of the moths that he was offering. It has become a real challenge to sift through all of the scammers to find legitimate suppliers abroad. I'm sure that it is becoming more difficult for places like Ianni, Insect World, Tropical Butterflies, etc. to sift through it all as well. I guess once you find a good one you hang on for dear life!

Hey people, for one thing, if this person brought in non-native cocoons to Indiana from outside the country then he had to smuggle them because it is illegal. You don't want to deal with smugglers, do you? I hope not.
