Leptogryllus deceptor is still listed as 'Extinct in the Wild' by the IUCN (Orthopteroid Specialist Group, 1996). However, it seems to be globally extinct with no known population in captivity (Zieppel, 2010 cited in Maas, 2011). Can anybody clarify the status of the Oahu Deceptor Bush Cricket? The accession numbers of any known specimens would be great. Or the last recorded date. Anything at all really.
I'll fully acknowledge any help anybody provides me in my database, I assure you. Thanks in advance.
