Here is the link to some great footage of Apatura ilia, both forms, and Apatura iris in a mixed hardwood forest of Eastern Germany. There are several other videos you can click on to see more European Nymphalid butterflies such as Argynnis paphia, and Nymphalis polychloros just to name a few. I thought I should post this for all those interested in European Lepidoptera. Tom

Among the footages, I was very much surprized to watch the magnificent form of Apatura iris (f. iole)!
