I saw his post on insectnet:"I am a hunter,i got many butterflies but don't know what to do with them,i am looking for someone to take them for free email:kellenarnold2003@gmail.com to be that lucky person" I wrote him that I want butterflies. His answer: "Thanks for getting to me,i am still not experienced in this, but i collected lots of different butterflies,i am from Cameroon in one village. I don't know how i can get them to you. I have a list and pictures. Are you interested? I am looking for someone to give them." I: Yes I am interestid in. Please send me photos and list. Wait a minute, you said for exchange? I need just the shipping fee to send them to you. If you agree to this then we can proceed. I:Ok, Just send me photos and list. After 1 hour he sent 3 photos and this text: I just sent you a few of the many i have,i was just wondering if you can send me a list of what you want because i have many different kinds. Have you heard it?

I also saw the advert and immediately tagged it as a scam.

Good job fellows. Typical of so many of these idiots, using images taken from the net. And this fool using images of species from the wrong continent. Also, he is sending images of live specimens, not images of collected specimens, another mistake. Here is a similar dumb African scammer with a website illustrating specimens from Europe, USA and Mexico in his gallery of Tanzanian specimens: www.herpitologictz.4mg.com I reported on this scammer earlier in the year and he disappeared. Now he is back with the same website and he is on Facebook again scamming persons.

As to the other guy, when I clicked on one of the images I got a malware alert too so be careful!

I also contacted him and his response was that "the insects are free but there is an advance payment for postage required to be sent to Cameroon" Omigosh, I am so tired of these guys! Also be aware that Musa Mmbaga in Tanzania is on the prowl again. DO NOT sent him money in advance as you will never see a bug or your money again.

I find this scammer very funny, because if he really wanted to have a good chance at scamming people, he would at least get pictures of collected specimens from Africa, not of Battus philenor and Pieris rapae, both of which do not occur in Cameroon. The sad thing is that Cameroon and that area is notorious for internet scams, ranging from insects to gold to just about anything.
