I have an idea that I'd like to throw out to the crowd here to see if anyone has either tried it or even thinks it's worth trying.
Like many people who catch moths, I too have the problem of messing up the way the moth looks by the time I catch them and finish injecting them with alcohol. All of the handling takes its toll on the moth's appearance. So, there's this product, as well as a number of others very similar, called "Poop Freeze". It's freeze-spray aerosol made for animal waste pick-up. Simply stated, you spray it on your dogs freshly deposited "gifts", and it freezes said gift solid. At which point you pick it up and dispose of it. The ad says it cools surfaces down to -62 degrees Farenheit.
What I'm thinking is, what if I were to get a can of this stuff, and when I see a moth (or any other insect) that I want to collect on my sheet when I'm out night lighting, spray the insect, thereby instantly freezing it? I could then, at my leisure, catch the specimen without messing it up, since it will be at least immobilized if not dead. I could then inject it with alcohol and have a fresh specimen in perfect condition.
So, any input here from anyone on this idea? Or for that matter, has anyone ever tried it? I'm not sure of the force in which the aerosol sprays out of the can, so I'm thinking if it's too forceful, it might not be so good. But, I'm thinking of giving it a try.
Anyone?

It is certainly worth a try. Let us know how it works. If it doesn't work, you can always use the spray to freeze off your warts.

I wonder if that is the answer to having a cold beer in a hot jungle?
Make sure that if you are freezing then that you don't let them thaw out and stay thawed too long.
