Hello I had this dynastid from Peru (Dto. San Martin) for selling on ebay, and some people liked it a lot. I try to identify everything and I was many hours with this, but I couldn't found what it was (maybe I'm a bit bad identifying ). I would like to know what it is, maybe then I will understand why it's interesting. Thanks. Regards

It's a big (for the small size of this Dynastinae) male of Gibboryctes waldenfelsi..Rare species and big size (if I remember from your listing, size was about 37mm, and it looks also big from the width/length of the pronotal horn), so you now understand why those people were wanting it.. . Cheers, Thanos (the one who won your giant G. regius ).

Hello Yes, it was an unexpected price for me, poor ignorant , I thought it was a common dinastidae and that 4-5€ will be good for it. Now this specimen it's on his way to Japan and perhaps I will never come across with such an specimen If I would know before maybe I would have keep it for my collection... I should have imagine that was a rare species after few hours of id investigation without success, but again, poor ignorant of me... The positive part is that now I can get some other specimens I want hehe. Regards
