Yes, this is Alain van Vyve. He was in Belgium when I used to buy from him but he moved to Bali a couple of years ago. He had a lot of specimens at good prices, but quality was variable, and data could be similar. I haven't bought anything from him recently, so am not up to date.

I bought from him twice.
Despite the issues described below I'd say I had quite good experience buying from him. Excellent prices (especially when you use all the discounts offered); most of the specimens are of excellent or very good quality. One specimen had a damage and Alain gave me a refund.
What's not good: papering of the specimens often kinda sloppy, stapled not carefully, specimens are partially exposed, several specimens (I think 4 out of 30 ordered) had tarsi broken in transit and some tarsi fell out into a shipping box because of poor papering. Shipping boxes are not very sturdy. Data often are not very detailed. Some specimens I received are missing a year (!) when they were collected. It's not critical to me, but probably is for many.

Same here I orderd from him always fast replying emails fast delivery good prices nice guy
The only thing is I dont spread my own insects en the entomolgists in working with told me there where some damages it could be a little chip in 1 specimen or it could be a box of crushes insect powder I dont know yet
But I think you can safely deal with him:)

AFAIK Alain is installed in Makassar not in Bali. A very good supplier.

I've always had good stuff from Alain. I agree that the data not always great (in truth I think alot of data generally is suspect as many commercial dealers get stuff from collectors who are not always very concerned with accuracy of locality etc) but he is honest and can be trusted.
