I think that's a small blue . A butterfly from Europe . I used to live in the UK and I feel quite confident on the ID . Just a little thought , why would you post a pic you happened to see on the net without crediting the photographer ? x

It will be rather impossible to attribute a photographer to this picture. You can nowadays search on google using images and this very image happens to be found on hundreds of websites as somehow people started to use it for new years wishes and some blog websites offer it as a generic background.

Yes, nomad is right, it is a male P. icarus. Here we have also the extremely local P. andronicus, very similar but much larger and with brighter blue! I've collected it here, it is amazing.
