Hello I bought the following 3 specimens of Lucanus last year on the insect fair in Frankfurt am Main, Germany but I'm still not sure if they are determined correct. I bought the one in the attachment as Lucanus szetschuanicus lati, collected in Chundo Razi, Myanmar. 56 mm. Attachments:

This one is determined as L. fairmairei/ L. szetschuanicus. I'd rather say it's Lucanus szetschuanicus szetschuanicus than L. fairmairei. It was collected in Lushan, Yaan, Sichuan, China. The size is about 53 mm. Attachments:

I bought this one as Lucanus prossi, Burma, Myanmar. 56 mm. I don't really see a difference between him and the L. s. lati... Attachments:

Lucanus szetschuanicus lati is a synonym of Lucanus prossi. Lucanus prossi is the correct one.

And what about the other one? Is it szetschuanicus or fairmairei?

It really depends who you are talking to. Chinese believes it's fairmairei but the Japanese believes it's szetschuanicus. Personially I would agreed with Japanese.
