Can anyone tell me what Urania species is it? Specimen comes from very old collection and I think it could be Urania sloanus but it is labelled "Venezuela". Thanks ! Pawel Attachments:

Hello
In my ignorance I guess yes, it's sloanus. It has date and collector? Labelled as collected in Venezuela can be two things: an amazing discovery (for a believed extinct species wich only existed in Jamaica) or a mistake.

Its probably sp. sloanus from Jamaica, labeled incorrectly.

tropicalinsect < seeing the HUGE value of a Urania sloanus I would make your specimen identified by a specialist of Uranidae.
Manfred on this forum may be able to confirm you.

There is absolutely no doubt for me, it is Urania sloanus. For comparison I have attached a pair of my collection. regards, Manfred Attachments:

I agree with Manfred--no doubt about it, it is absolutely Urania sloanus. Congratulations on a great acquisition.
