Try Heteroceres de French Guiana. I tried but found it difficult to remember the patterns, even despite my attempts to draw the wings. It's best to do it with the photograph in hand. Actually, the moth on the lower right is Macrodes cynara (Cramer, 1775). I collected one that was similar in Belize, and have one from Brazil. Jeff Prill

I looked at Bold Systems and found out that my Macrodes sp. from Belize is Macrodes columbalis. I don't know why I didn't think of looking there for it. I collected on Matthew Barnes property on October 3, 2008, and I had a heck of a good time. Also the forest around there is very good for sweeping beetles. He wasn't there when we were there, so he wouldn't know me. Jeff Prill
