I have no idea why I haven't joined earlier. But here I am. Name's Katie, and I really just collect critters that are interesting, pretty, or perhaps have an interesting history, like a grasshopper that flew in and landed on my hand, only to peacefully (and inexplicably) expire there. I kept him. My main hobby is growing carnivorous plants, and that has kinda branched me here with the buggies. Sarracenia are especially good at attracting all sorts of critters, including mud daubers, metallic green bees, and other things you wouldn't expect to find on or in a Sarr. I joined mainly for a couple butterfly IDs, but I'll stick around. Bugs are fun.

That I can do. Easily. Thanks for the welcome! I've already had wonderful success from my ID thread, thanks all! I'll be sticking around. It's a subject I've loved since I was a kid.

I would be more than happy to post some pictures. I have highland through lowland Nepenthes, plus a yard full of Sarracenia and a tiny greenhouse full of carnivores and grocery store orchids. I'll post them the next time I'm on the computer (I'm using my phone right now).
Thanks for the welcomes!
Wingedwishes, ask away! I'll be glad to help.

Very interesting and lovely pictures. Hope you proposed trip to the Sierras in search of Darlingtonia [Pitchers] goes well. Must be a very beautiful area. In the U.K. Pitchers have been introduced to a few bogs in Scotland. We have a few carnivorous plants. Three species of Sundews. A few bladderworts and two species of Butterworts. The Common Butterwort [Pinguicula vulgaris] is my favourite with large purple flowers for the size of the plant and is only frequent in the bogs and flushes of Northern England and is common in the hills of Scotland nomad
