I notice these people have started advertising on here again. There is a plethora of information about them on the old forum but nothing here yet as they've been quiet for a few years.
This company is run by Javier Zavala Lopez and I had many successful dealings with him over several years, although I understand that several others were ripped off by him. However, my last order with him was for $750 in October 2009; when I hadn't received it by December he told me it had been siezed by customs, even though he told me he had an INRENA permit, and that he would replace it. After several reminders and many promises that he was sending my specimens, the last time I heard from him was March 2010 and he's refused to answer any emails since. I know it's not a lot of money, and he did supply some orders for several thousands of dollars, but it's the principle that matters.
It seems that he will supply good material when it suits him but has no qualms about ripping pepople off when it doesn't. I believe that he has been banned from this site on more than one occasion, maybe he thinks it's been long enough that he can chance his arm again. Deal with him at your peril!

I notice he's advertising again! Morphos this time.
A few weeks ago he had the nerve to contact me and ask if I wanted to do business with him again. He said if I place regular bulk orders he'd pay back what he owed me bit by bit. I replied that if he paid back what he owes me first, I'll consider doing business with him again. I didn't get a reply...

I can report that Javier Zavala Lopez of House Insects of Peru has sent me a parcel containing specimens that finally fulfil the order I placed with him nearly five years ago.
I can only assume that as he's been keen to pay off this old debt, he's trying to restore his reputation and is now serious about becoming a reliable supplier.
I therefore withdraw my recommendation not to do business with him; I may well deal with him further myself.

Bob ,As you are a long standing customer of his he should be prepared to send specimens in advance of payment, if he is indeed changing his ways, otherwise stay away from him. terry.
