Hello
In France, there are a lot of Carabus collectors. As you know, French as Le Moult described tons of local forms. Indeed a species like Carabus auronitens has a green type but it can have black, violet, orange forms depending of forests. It is fascinating !
Carabus are very interesting to study. As they don't fly they easily create new local forms due to habitat fragmentation via human activities.
Are there Carabus collectors on this forum ? I would be happy to see some pictures of their collection.
Regards

I trade for a lot of Carabus, sending Cicindela and Scaphinotus to Europe. In 6 years I've built up a collection that ranks well with many collectors in Europe. I have about 400 species and 94 of the 114 subgenera. They are a cool group! Not many people collect them in North America.

Hello Very nice! I don't have many carabidae in my collection and don't know why, because I like them and I've catch many of them when I set pitfalls hehe I suppose it's also because I just get 4-5 maximum of each species for my drawers, because lack of space. But I think I can contribute with this photo of some carabidae of my zone, Northwest Spain (forget the anthia and the hydrophyllidae and Dytiscidae). Regards Attachments:
