Greetings everyone. Does anyone know where I can obtain a nice pair of Papilio Hellanichus? Also, what could I expect to pay for a nice A1 pair? Thank You

Greetings hellanichus, welcome to Insectnet. Try "The Neotropical Lepidoptera Shop" (one of the Insectnet listed suppliers) neotropicalleps.com/ neotrop.leps@googlemail.com. He sometimes has specimens. In answer to your second question - Big money?? Note that you should write hellanichus with a small h. Only genus names start with a capital letter, species names should always be written with a small letter. Adam.

Hi, Adam gave you link where you can see price of sold specimens of hellanichus. Also Robert have A1- male / A1 sold / - www.theinsectcollector.com/acatalog/info-11517.htmlAnd one UK Ebay offer also present / female, not A1 specimen / In Europe sometimes appears older specimens from times when this species was better available. But true A1 specimens are really rare and expensive / at least for me ;D /. Jan

"Big money" is an expression meaning expensive, as in 'mucho dinero'.
Jan is right, A1 specimens especially females are very hard to obtain.
Adam.

Try contacting the dealer Nigel South ebay name:- nigelwillsouth He has collected them in Argentina. I actually went to the spot last March and never even saw one. I know he did have some nice wild caught ones for sale.

Colin,
I think they fly in December, rather than March, which may explain why you didn't find any.
Adam.

Greetings, can someone ID this pretty specimen? See attached photo. There is no photo attached. I guess you forgot to re-attach it when you edited the post, and the photo consequently vanished. Adam.

Hi, I will fix this tonight when I am at home. I do not have the photo available at work. I originally added the file in the attachment section. Then I did a preview and did not see my photo. Thanks

Looks like Papilio hellanichus to me. Maybe with less red dots than usual
