Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me ID the following two specimens. If better pictures are required I can do that but will have to dig out my camera, it was easier on my phone. This one is from Sumatra and is 74mm This is from Java and is 70mm Any thoughts? R~

Hi,
Both specimens are Macrotoma (Bandar) p. pascoei (Macrotomini Prioninae) - the first one is female and the second male.

Do you think either of these two could be Macrotoma tennelimbata?
Thanks Thanos.

Actually, 'Macrotoma tennelimbata' doesn't exist. Only exists Macrotoma tenuelimbata Nonfried, 1892, which is the original combination of Aulacotoma tenuelimbata (Nonfried, 1892), a very different species from Madagascar.
I have noticed on the lists of some dealers online, that they offer pictured specimens of Macrotoma (Bandar) p. pascoei from Java or Sumatra as 'Macrotoma tennelimbata'. This is a mistake.
So, your specimens are a pair of p. pascoei.
Note that Macrotoma fisheri is just a synonym of pascoei.

Are these beetles pinned with proper insect pins? I think those shouldn't have any colors other than black or silver.

Yes those pins should be replaced. As if they are normal sewing pins they may corrode soon and stain your specimens. Best to use purpose built entomological pins.

They are entomological pins, I was given a bunch of stuff and for some reason they painted the heads of each size a different colour... No clue why, but they are otherwise as new so I use em'
