On Tony Nagypal's website "An Introduction to the World of Birdwing Butterflies", Mr. Nagypal states under Straatmana alexandrae described forms, male form devis. Does anyone have a description or photos of this form? This is the only place I have seen this form mentioned.

I have the book where it was described, but I'm not at home now. If I remember right this is a male form which has dark green pattern instead of the the normal green and blue.

The name on Nagypal's website is cited wrong, the correct name of the form is f. diva Schaeffler, 2001. It is a very dark and somber form of the male. The description is published in "Schmetterlinge der Erde, Tagfalter, Teil 12, Papilionidae VI, Ornithoptera" by Oliver Schäffler, publisher Goecke & Evers, Keltern, Germany. There is a life-size figure on plate 52 fig. 2.
Please private me, if you are interrested to get a copy of the illustration.

First, I would like to thank Hannes and Manfred for their replies. The information you shared with me is greatly appreciated. I had incorrectly assumed that the mf. diva referred to the "blue form" of the male alexandrae. Second, Because the book Manfred referred to is not available to me, I would love to have seen the illustration of the described form. However, I would never want to offend or ask anyone on this forum to break copyright laws.

As Michel says, if we want good books to be published, we need to support publishers and authors by buying those books (especially the non expensive one, some books are too pricey for sure). Same thing for associations and websites you like, help them, make donations (even 10 USD only per year) and so on. Same thing on ebay, support serious dealers by buying their stuff instead of stuff with no collecting data from discount sellers. Those of us who can afford it should all apply those rules to encourage those who publish, create, devolop associations and so on.
