I caught this on 20 Oct 2011 in VIC, Australia. My best guess is that is in Hymenoptera, but after catching it, it rolled into a ball clamped shut by the abdominal appendage that hooks itself behind the head! Very strange. James D. Attachments:

Okay,These are In the order Hymenoptera, good guess, not much of a waist but its there. Commonly known as Cuckoo wasps belonging to the Family Chrysididae. They are well armoured and roll up to prevent attacks, rather than stinging.
