Today I replaced my older Papilio anactus with a better spread one. Then I noticed the older one's wings are very slightly out of proportion. Also the left hindwing has a dull marking. Reared and emerged from pupa on 3 Jan 2012. Genetic error, or improperly expanded wings? James D. Attachments:

I first I thought gyandomorph. But the rear left wing is rippled and not flat indicating it did not expand properly. Having reared many butterflies myself this is not an uncommon problem. I am surprised the breeder did send you a butterfly with a falty wing. I carefully inspect all my captive reared butterflies for wing or antenna goofs be for sending them to collectors.

I at first thought that too. But the abdomen also seems to be fully female. Haha no these were all bred by me. My standard of quality was obviously much lower back then. Thanks for the reply.
