That's terrible about Dave.
I bought some beetles from him last year. Specimens' quality was great but there were some mistakes with my order. He promised to correct them. If he does - great.
Anyway taking into consideration his situation I won't hold that against him and probably will give him another chance.

Hi to all members and guests,
I have kept quiet long enough about my first and ongoing experience with Mr.Dave DeRosa of Insect World. I,m going to state the facts and you can decide for yourselves.

My first contact with Dave was in early January of 2013 to place an order for 2 pairs of Ornithoptera chimaera chimaera. I know at this time his mother was very ill, and he was preoccupied with family issues, which I totally understand, and I told to take care of his family first. We were emailing back and forth finalising the price of butterflies plus fees (CITES fees and re export CITES fees plus postage and incredible amount of $290.00US.)
so in April 16th. 2013 Dave responded to my email that he had indeed received payment, but did warn me that Fish & Wildlife were very slow. Numerous emails later Dave still had to apologise for nothing happening with Fish & Wildlife.
In December 6th. 2013 Dave informed that he had received word from Fish & Wildlife and that permit was being processed.
On March 21st.2014 Dave said he finally got written word that he would have the permit within 10 days.
In April 2014 Dave informs me that Fish & Wildlife had lost the original documents and he would have to start the process all over again.
After frequent emails sent to Dave with no reply from him I was starting to get worried.

May 25th.2014 I left a message in the Trading reports of this Forum, asking if anyone had had contact with Dave.

On May 30th.2014 I finally heard from Dave, his reply was
“ I made sure that after they lost the first documents that I chose an inspector by name so I could get information.
I have waited to write you until after I could speak directly to the inspector, but so far I haven't been able to get him on the phone. I have no word from him since he last told me I should have the docs in 10 days ! In the meantime, I am more than willing to send your money back.

On May 31st.2014 I sent Dave an numerous emails, asking if that included my original $290.00US.in fees, of course I have not heard a word back.

Look I can understand that if Dave was living in a hut in the middle of Papua New Guinea it would be a good reason for the sporadic emails that I have received but he isn,t. I far as I can see Dave is avoiding me, he must have known full well that I would reply to his last email offering my money back. I know not all this is Daves fault, Fish & Wildlife need to get their act together as well. I,m really disappointed with Dave this is certainly no way to conduct business.
