Does anyone know if the ebay seller goliath*2010 from Russia has CITES certificates for the Ornithoptera he is selling in ebay ? I did not get an answer from him to my question.
Thanks, Manfred

That suggests to me that he probably doesn't. I am sure that if he does have CITES certificates he would reply very quickly, unless he never received your question for whatever reason.
Adam.

This seller has nothing to do with CITES certificates, just like he has nothing to do with the specimens he offers. Actually, he is not a seller, but a re-re-re-seller. Apart from all of his specimens being "RARE, SUPER RARE, EXTREMELY RARE, OR BLACK/WHITE/DARK/BRIGHT/YELLOW/BLUE/STRANGE/WHATEVER" form, he has a habit of digitally tinting the discolored areas of the wing pattern with red (in case of Parnassius), or with some other color, depending on the butterfly. An alternative option is darkening the overall image, so that scratches and glue are less visible. "MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE"

But how come he has a 100% ebay feedback if he hides some defects or changes some colors ? It´s very hard to have a 100% positive feedback, some people can put you a bad feedback for very small details....

No doubt, I was just talking about his Parnassius stuff, not about other butterflies or Coleoptera... As for his 100% positive feedback, which is really very sad, I can only guess that many people have very little idea of what a particular taxon should look like, and have nothing to compare with and see the difference... I remember a feller pointing at a photo of some male specimen and telling me: This is a female, isn't it? I said: No, that's a male. And he said: But I think it's a female. I said: Well, think on...
