I bought a few lots on eBay, and of course they mostly arrived without identification data - though I do have at least some amount of collection data for them. I display my Lepidoptera (and I've got some dragonflies that I'll be adding to them, as well) in double-glass frames, so you'll notice for instance that they're not pinned, they're glued... and therefore I don't worry so much about missing legs and such. We're all about the pretty wings in my house. Anyways... though I'm trying to create sort of a "biodiversity" display, I'm an ornithologist. I can use a key to ID species... IF I can figure out what the terms in the key mean, and sadly when it comes to insects I'm completely in the dark. So I'm really hoping that some nice folks here will patiently give me a hand with species ID. Attached (I hope) is the obverse of the first trio I've mounted. The top butterfly was identified as Curetis acuta. The other two were from a lot marked as collected in July 2012 in Xiaojing, Sichuan, China. Attachments:

Oh, good, it looks like the attachment worked. Here is the reverse. Attachments:

OK for Curetis acuta Moore.
The second sample is a moth (third also) and seems to be a Geometridae and, I presume, Larentiinae.

Ah, yes. I forgot to say that I did know the other two are moths. I got one lot of moths, one of skippers, one of dragonflies, and a couple of butterflies. I've been spreading the moths first, since they all came from the same source, as well as a couple of other specimens including the Curetis acuta. I got two Curetis acuta and rubbed most of the scales off the other one in my attempt at spreading it; this one got a little bit rubbed but not nearly as bad.
A quick Google suggests that Larentiinae is probably a good guess on the middle moth. Any thoughts on #3?

This is probably my favorite of the bunch - some sort of glasswing moth. Sorry 'bout the red, it just wouldn't show up right on white, and I didn't have good enough lighting for black. Attachments:
