I can't see everything that I need to see. If the antennae are carinate after the third segment then it might be a female of Analophus niger, but it's difficult to say for certain. My source is Longicorn Beetles From New Guinea by J.L. Gressitt. Pacific Insects. Vol. 1, No. 1. 1959. My suggestion would be to look it up. Jeff Prill

Greetings,
Check also the genus Xixuthrus - possibly Xixuthrus microcerus. It could be a rubbed specimen of that genus. There is a recent paper on the genus: Marazzi G., Marazzi V., Komiya Z. New Xixuthrina from Indo-Australian Region. Unfortunately, I do not yet have this work, so I can't give you a better answer.

Greetings,
Excellent! It is great to get the identification directly from the expert. Thank you very much!
I have also sent you a PM - please check your Inbox...
Cheers! Bandrow
P.S. - interesting how fast this specimen went from needing a det, to be sold on Ebay, and then reposted for sale in the Classifieds!!
