Sems to be O. v. archeri Calderara, 1984, from ChoiseuL Island. Could be also O. v. epiphanes from Makira Island. I presume it's archeri.

golden sheen is actually typical for ssp. epiphanes

I agree with Manfred, the amount of gold scaling is pretty typical for epiphanes. However victoriae is a variable butterfly, and a golden "aberration" of some other subspecies cant be ruled out. David Hall

the specimen is epiphanes - and would be a Winter or wet season male - "archeri" from Choiseul is not a consideration here nor is regis - and if you have the female then your problem is SOLVED - epiphanes is easy to tell. IF you have photos of the obverse I can assist - Cheers Greg

Hi Dunc well if you got two races it would confuse the issue wouldn't it - data is soooooo important - this is regis female - so for me to really have a fighting chance I need some LARGER images and I can pull them up on my screen and please recto and verso - IF you can - cheers
