Take a look back at some of my older posts. Peter is nothing but a lying, cheating thieft. In fact I'm certain that he is a pathological liar. If you need evidence send me a personal email. I have so much dirt on this guy it's beyond a joke. It really irks me that despite the categorical undisputed evidence available that this fellow is still allowed to predate on our entomological community. Beware of ANY dealings with him. You are well advised to never have anything to do with him. Like most conmen, to start with he will honour a few small dealings and lull you into a false sense of confidence. Then you will get stung. Take my word for it... it is only a matter of tme before your are deceived!

Thanks for sharing Radovan! How can we stop this guy from continuing to deceive and take advantage of our "passion"?? I say, let's all put a total ban on purchasing any specimens from him!

For you USA buyers, beware. His listing the item location as Helena, Montana falsely makes one feel safe because no USFW is involved with domestic sales. That pkg coming from Europe is a package you (in effect) are importing without the Form 3177 being submitted/declared/inspected. Certainly do print out the EBay receipt/bill of sale showing the item location as within the US. At least one can show that he/she did not intentionally bring it in w/o being inspected should the goons come calling.
I will no longer buy from him and EBay should be made aware of this.

Come on!!! Do no tell me that this was the guy that provoke the changes in this forum, by threatening to sue Clark. Clark, did he give you his lawyer's information?
Now I understand why he threat to sue me and others than left a negative feedback. Works (at least) one time....
He is a pathological liar. It is so, to the point that to my negative feedback, he replied in e-bay for everyone to see (no in a personal e-mail): "buyer left neg feedback by mistake..." Who is going to believe that.
I saw photos of specimens grossly Photoshopped for this individual to hide repairs and defects, that were acquired for other collector. The contrast with the photo of the actual specimen received is infuriating. He seems to apply that to "rare" Papilios of black background color. Now he has a "rogeri pharnaces" posted that most likely is also photoshoped (base of left anterior wing, and area of the tails in both wings).
He is the one that need to be careful, if he does not like to end with enduring problems. As somebody notice here, he is misleading his location. He is a slovak, leaving in Slovakia. This lie, may generate obvious legal problems, that could be pursued by wildlife and tax law enforcement...

Hopeforinsects is Peter Jakubek.
He is exceedingly dishonest, exhorbitantly overpriced and I would stongly discourage anyone from doing business with him. Look him up from an older thread from about 2 years ago for details or contact me.

It's also worth noting that he is currently making up new subspecies in order to jack up his already crazy prices -- Morpho theseus mazatecus (Jakubek & Fisher, 2008)- a name that no-one familiar with Central American literature is aware of. It looks like it's just Morpho theseus oaxacensis Le Moult & Réal, but then you can't dupe people into paying $4,000 for that locally common bug.

He has posted specimens on Ebay, recently, as I recall. I had a particularly bad transaction with him a few years ago.
Nice specimens,yes, but I'd rather give my money and support to other more reputable suppliers.

I paid it 9 days ago, they told me when the payment is credited they would inform me! However, I still wait for their reply now... As a result, if someone had bought specimens from him please tell me~ Never had a good experience with this seller.... |
