goliath*2010 from Ebay. This seller is a well known seller in ebay. He has many positive feedback. I recently received a beetle from him. He sold the specimen as "A1 quality." However, I noticed that the specimen was glued and repaired after washing it with acetone. Acetone dissolves and softens the glue (Polymer). The bottom left leg was glued to the body. Acetone revealed the glue. Please look at the attached picture. I am very shocked with the fact that he actually sold this specimen as "A1 quality." I recommend to check your beetles with acetone or something else..before you leave a positive feedback. Joon Attachments:

Its not that bad.
I've had some horrible repairs even from well known sellers. For example; specimens with parts from other specimens with either different sized limbs and even slightly different colours, I think suppliers from Irian are bad for it... I might just name and shame some of them here. In a new thead ofcourse!

Joon, to make the picture more complete, have a look at "ebay seller of Ornithoptera"- it's about the same human specimen... I collect Parnassiinae (surely, no more deals with him), and have been always wondering about this feller's other stuff... Now I can see that same old crap is everywhere he goes: some cheap tricks with the photo and an A2 or B specimen is listed and sold as A1. And one more point: do not trust his identification too much - he is regularly wrong, by ignorance or purposefully (or both)... And as for his 100% positive feedback, I know that e-bay has a special SELLER PROTECTION program, which is to say that if the guy brings enough money to the firm (which he apparently does) they will never show his negative scores. That's it. "MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE"

I opened a case (claim) in ebay. He contacted me right away. He is making a pathetic excuse. This is what he said,
"As I spoke to you, I will leave since the end of new week till August... I won't be more than 2 months... To receive a parcel there is nobody if it on mail I lay long time it will send back to the sender! I will return on 1st August from the last expedition and at once to you I will tell! So normally? I then will send you back money for a beetle!I am the honest and decent person! ! ! My reputation speaks for itself!"
He is trying to convince me to close the case. If I close the case then it's over. He can't guarantee that I will have the money back! He will probably ignore my email. So I am going to get my money back through the case.
Bichos. Could you make a thread about the suppliers from Irian Jaya. So that collectors can avoid them.
Stapleton: Wow..I didn't know ebay has a special seller protection program. That looks like a fraud to me. I will definitely avoid him in the future. Yes, I saw the ebay seller of Ornithoptera. He doesn't even have a CITES permit to sell Ornithoptera. He has so many problems.

Three out of five buyers ask for refund or compensation, but the remaining two never do that for whatever reason. This is the math. But IMHO, IT STINKS...

Bichos. Could you make a thread about the suppliers from Irian Jaya. So that collectors can avoid these. I'm one of those buyers who never complains I just avoid that seller and never buy again. Also i prefer not to shame sellers and give them the benefit of the doubt. It's very competitive out there, and so the bad ones won't last anyway.

Normally, it's just useless to "shame sellers" in question, for they simply have NO SHAME at all... And the same goes for "the benefit of the doubt": they have NO DOUBT whatsoever concerning themselves, and this is exactly what their BENEFIT is... "...and so the bad ones won't last anyway". BUT THEY DO...

I don't know how much power does InsectNet has. But I think it is necessary to shame the seller to warn people about him. By creating this thread, people will not waste their time and money. I believe this is the reason why trading report forum was created.

Still I think, to shame a seller is useless, but to warn people is what we can and should do. You are absolutely right, Joon.

I was able to receive the full refund.
This is what he said
"You write to me that many collectors are dissatisfied, but it not the truth!!! I sent to many hundred collectors not to one thousand dollars of a FREE bonus material free of charge!!!The huge number of positive responses on ebay of my account speaks for itself... And thousands transactions from worldwide with hundreds persons from worldwide too!!!You saw negative feedbacks at me for bad quality???For the last 2 years I sent more than 2 500 parcels why I have no negative feedbacks on my account? ? ?"
cheers,
Joon

Our little pathetic hypocrite is back again re-reselling Churkin's charltonius pair for cosmic price... and again same old tinted "mercurius buddha", which is really actinoboloides. Nothing new, so it goes... Happy bidding!

I never had any problem with him ... recently he sent to me that he can't send the items , i said "ok but return my money ..." ; no problem with paypal(under 45 days) , i have had my money ;-)..... Then , many of my specimen are not so perfect that i could imagine when i bought them on ebay or others .... ,but if you want the ideal specimen , i think you have to catch it after many failures ! ;-)))
