Hi guys, I found this bug flying around in my apartment complex last night. I couldn't get too many photos of it, but here is a photo that could help identify it. He flew around with his tail end pulled up and looked very much like a gigantic mosquito! I would say he is about an inch and a half to two inches long.

Well, it's definitely asilidae or "robber fly". Very aggressive. Thankfully they don't swarm like mosquitoes!
In this case I would ID that specifically as Diogmites misellus
