Hello thierry here's a closer shot of the legs, head and protonum. I have two variations. I notice that M. natala has spines on the outsite of the uper tarsi as well as the inside. On some of the specimens i have, some have spines on both sides, some only on the inside? regards peter

I am still having trouble in identifying these prionidae. I know that macrotoma natala has spikes running down both side of the upper and lower femur. Macrotoma palmate has spike running on the underside of the femur and is more smooth on the elytra. Anyone any ideas on the names of these specimens. I contacted my dealer and he told me that the specimens were from Kenya and not Tanzania? cheers in advance pete
