I am having a difficult time distinguishing, from a physiological standpoint, the difference between Ctenoscelis Ater, Coeus, and Acanthopus. Are there unique characteristics to tell the difference? I reviewed the follwing website: plant.cdfa.ca.gov/byciddb/details.asp?id=286. It was of little help. I focused on the thoracic 'hood' structure, but could not visually identify consistent differences between the species. Oh, I also did a search in the insectnet forum and only came up with two hits (maybe my search technique is lacking!) Any help would be appreciated!
